New Orleans Overview

City Overview: New Orleans is a major port and the largest city in the state of Louisiana. One of the top 10 most visited cities in the US, New Orleans is well known for its French Creole architecture, infamous cuisine, music, and annual celebrations and festivals: Most notably, Mardi Gras. New Orleans has multiple tourist attractions, from the infamous nightlife on Bourbon Street, to Magazine Street, which is rich with antique shops and boutiques. Known as the birthplace of “jazz”, New Orleans’ “New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival” is one of the largest music festivals in the nation. Other festivals include “Voodoo Fest” (a celebration of the voodoo culture still very evident in New Orleans today), and the Essence Music Festival.
